Centennial Park has a large number of exotic (introduced to NZ) trees, many of which have been planted by the Centennial Park Bush Society. They are mainly around the lower end of the park. There is also an interesting collection of large landscape trees around the golf course. Some of the introduced trees in the park are now undesirable pest plants which the Bush Society is trying to slowly rid the park of.  The worst of these are monkey apple (Syzygium smithii) and Sydney golden wattle (Acacia longifolia).

Some of the more spectacular trees in the park are the magnolias near Beach Rd
